Lovelle:
A quick update for you! A resolution bringing funding into the Capital budget for the “kneecap” was adopted at the April 2, 2009 Council meeting. Henry and I met with engineering today for a status update. Now that the resolution has been signed engineering will solicit bids from outside engineers to offer design and calculate cost of the project. According to the S/D plat there are some elevation differentials at the kneecap from the house pads to the street that will be addressed in the design phase.
It was suggested that the Marigny Trace HOA write a letter to the Parish authorizing the build out. In addition the Parish would like the HOA to obtain letters of no objection from the affected homeowners. Once obtained please forward all to my attention.

- Tanager Dr "Kneecap"
Thx for this
update Henry.
What I'm wondering is why there is an issue with a
"slope"?
My property is on the full cul de sac just down the street
& the "curb" that adjoins the street is no more "sloped" than any other on
Tanager Dr.
And, the two properties on either side of the forthcoming
"kneecap" (1/2 full cul de sac) have no "slope" issue at the curb, which same
type curb / slope should be followed with the build-out.
Thx
again,
Lovelle

Mr. Davis,
Mr. Billiot has agreed to fund the project construction, but there are significant engineering design problems that need to be accounted for before construction can begin. For instance, the “kneecap” that is currently grass and is intended to be paved is on an incline…not flat like the other cul-du-sac. When paved, this will make the driveways have a slope that may not be acceptable to residents. Construction documents must be generated that include paving designs, moving the utilities, etc. This is usually produced by a consultant who will stamp the documents. Due to the litigious nature of this work, we may not want to attempt to do this in-house.
We will get together some information for you and we can discuss if you need additional details.
Regards,
deEtte

Hope you had a good weekend. Is there any reason this project can't move forward? The funds necessary would be comming from my capital account form 08.

Henry -
Just a note to follow up on our discussion of Thursday evening. My understanding is that the "kneecap" should proceed without any difficulty & that you would touch base with our good Parish President; but, that there should be no issues with the funding of this project. I am very hopeful that a reply to this message will provide us with an encouraging timeline to finalize the build-out.
It is always a pleasure to see you & thanks again for all of your help,
Lovelle
