Henry:
I met with Engineering today regarding another issue, but did follow up on the proposed build out of the kneecap in Marigny Trace on Tanager Dr. As you are aware the, Parish has placed a moratorium on the seeking of bids for capital projects for several months, until we can get a good handle on revenues. With that in mind I spoke with deEtte to make sure that Engineering was proceeding with developing plans and the costing of the build out so that once the moratorium on seeking of bids is lifted we would be in position to seek the bid for the necessary work to be done.
deEtte will be seeking assistance from outside engineers to design and cost out the build out. Once she has the cost for that study in hand I will advise you accordingly. She did however have a couple of concerns. She wanted to make sure that the Marigny Trace HOA has contacted and received approval from the affected homeowners, as this is not the Parish’s responsibility. Secondly and perhaps more important she knows we had an initial cost estimate, but all concerned believe that estimate to be quite a bit short of what the cost is expected to be, due to the fact that utilities must be moved, there appears to be some elevation issues with the placement of the roadway of the kneecap and the roadway is concrete rather than asphalt.
I will keep you advised of progress.
